The World Series starts tonight with the Tampa Bay Rays pitted against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rays, who have one of the smallest payrolls in Major League Baseball find a way to compete for the American League East pennant every season and are making their 2nd World Series appearance. This 2020 collection of them have been well in 1st place all pandemic season long. They never faltered and with the 1st seed in the playoffs have made a run to the finals. According to some of baseball’s greatest minds the Rays play some of the most authentic baseball these days.

Then you have the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team of Jackie Robinson who broke the color barrier in 1947 (though with Brooklyn I guess not LA), Sandy Koufax who didn’t pitch in Game 1 of the 1965 World Series in observance of Yom Kippur then went on to dominate and win the WS as well as WS MVP, won two World Series in the 80’s and have disappointed since despite always having one of baseball’s biggest payrolls. I have no ill will towards the Dodgers, though I WAS wanting the Atlanta Braves to win the NLCS because I personally know more Braves fans, the Tampa Bay Rays is who this sportswriter is championing to win. Why? Besides rooting for the underdog, cheering on a good friend’s team, the whole payroll thing? They also were beat in the last two rounds to reach the World Series the Yankees (The Evil Empire), and the Houston Astros who blatantly cheated in immense ways to win a faux championship a couple of years ago.

Welp, I’m sorry that article didn’t get published BEFORE the World Series. Anyways the Rays lost in 6 games and the Dodgers of Los Angeles with a payroll 7 times as much as Tampa Bay wins for the first time since 1988. At least they made Vin Scully, one of the greatest if not greatest baseball radio announcers of all time happy as he just retired in the two seasons but is very entrenched with the team. Next year should be fun and if the Rays do make it into the World Series again hopefully the manager will leave their starting pitcher who is dealing stay in past 70 pitches. IT’S THE WORLD SERIES DAMNIT

There’s a pregame show for the first Presidential Debate for 2020, the scene is set for a “slugfest” in Cleveland, Ohio. “I’m Chris Wallace of Fox News!” the lead host of the debate proclaims. Well at least there’s the Cleveland Clinic who seems to set the rules and maintain some sense of order.

Here they come. “Hey man!” Joe Biden greets Donald Trump. Biden has some nice teeth that’s for sure a great American smile. President Trump gives a cordial welcome then and before Joe gives his answer for the Supreme Court….

Ah Election Day is tomorrow and I assume if you are reading this article or have perused Guilty Addictions before you are the type of American (or any country you’re in respectively) citizen that would vote in your elections. Hell, I ENJOY voting! Whether someone is considered even the least bit correct about your vote not mattering amongst millions boy does every vote really add up, negating that argument as you see the many more millions who have come to turn out that just DID NOT VOTE in 2016. Those are the people that might not have thought their vote mattered just four years ago.

I’m always interested in the voting statistics post election anyways, but this year is going to be ultra noteworthy. Americans understand the importance of this election and the direction the United States goes into. A new Decade of what? Will it be selfish rallies celebrating ONE man for four years while, I’ll admit more than you think in numbers the dumbs in disease spreading groups clutch on to the fat cat white man fueling even more a serious topic that mental illness runs rampant in the U.S. These people have been brainwashed, flags flying with the name of a silver spooned asshat instead of an American flag! Speaking of silver spooned, I have always loved Creedence Clearwater Revival but John Fogerty denouncing the Trump campaign for playing “Fortunate Son” because it wasn’t made for people like him my goodness crank some CCR UP!

Well it’s a beautiful fall late afternoon on this Monday, Election Eve, but when the sun sets in the Ozarks this time of year the chill hits. The warm mornings and afternoons puts us in a good and confident mood but what will the nights bring? The Trumpers have begun to stop traffic to convey their point that their neighbors sharing the highways DON’T need to see their families or go to work. Wait? Does that selfish shit make the MAGA’s against family values and the economy? Oh my. Will they pull some crazy shit Tuesday after a loss? Grab some bourbon and be safe out there friends.

I suggest reading Chad’s article discussing more of the election I have not spoken enough on the topic and Chad is really intelligent and paints a picture in the article! The Wombat must be defeated.
